The Frederick County Humane Society provides programs that assist with affordable basic vet care, compassionate humane education, animal welfare advocacy, as well as serving as a resource within Frederick County.
The Frederick County Humane Society offers the following Programs to Frederick County residents.
The Converse Fund Adoption Program assists Frederick County residents who wish to adopt a pet for their family, or have recently adapted a pet, but temporary financial issues prevent veterinary care.
The funding for this program has been provided by the Converse Family, and managed by the Community Foundation of Frederick County. Please contact our office at (301) 694-8300 for more information.
FCHS provides emergency financial support to families who's pets require lifesaving (and often expensive) medical treatment. For more information, please call our office at (301) 694-8300, or download a flyer .
Frederick County Residents who wish to adopt a senior pet from Frederick County Animal Control, will be given a $250 voucher that will go directly to their vet for the animals care. Please contact FCHS for details.
The
Frederick County Humane Society has partnered with local participating
veterinarians to offer spay/neuter services at a reduced fee to low-income
Frederick County residents.
Through the POP Program, qualified applicants will pay a reduced fee
for spay/neuter of their dog or cat. This program is available through
out the year. To apply applications can be picked up at our office,

The Frederick County Humane Society sponsors the Quick Fix for Cats clinics twice a year, once in February and again in September. Pricing for clients is $25 per neuter, $35 per spay, and $15 per rabies vaccination if needed.
The new information for the Fall 2020 Quick Fix can be found HERE. Vet participation will be different than the spring so please read carefully.
The Shanklin Fund for Seniors is a specialized program for Frederick County residents age 65 or older, and on a limited income. We will pay a maximum of $100 per annual vaccine visit to will help ensure that companion animals to seniors, receive their yearly exams and necessary well-care.

The Well-Care Assistance Program offers Frederick County residents on a limited income basic vet care for their companion animal.

The Wolfe Military Assistance Program is now available for all current and recently separated military families, needing assistance for their pets. Many different types of assistance are available. Each case is reviewed independently. Please call us at (301) 694-8300 for details.
